Citizens Advice Liverpool reaffirms commitment to local residents despite changes in office locations

Citizens Advice Liverpool is pleased to announce our move to Liverpool Innovation Park from January 2026. Developed over the last five years, the move to a central office to deliver telephone services, combined with face to face provisions remaining at outreach locations across the city, means the previous staff office bases in Belle Vale, Garston and Wavertree can now close.

This move is about doing more with less. Maintaining multiple offices has become financially unsustainable. At the same time, demand for advice continues to rise, and the charity’s services remain heavily oversubscribed.
Since our announcement in July about our moving plans, we've been tirelessly campaigning for more funding to provide face to face advice services in Liverpool. Despite the lack of funding for face to face advice, the kindness and dedication of our volunteers allows us to provide 3 drop-ins per week.
Heather Jessop, CEO of Citizens Advice Liverpool, said:
“Our core funding from Liverpool City Council has remained at the same level since 2016, and makes up only 3% of our annual income. We’ve used that investment as a foundation to grow our service significantly through grant funding and partnerships, enabling us to support over 30,000 people this year. But the reality is that demand far exceeds our capacity”.
We provide a telephone service 5 days a week, digital advice via email and video calls, as well as 30 outreach locations that are facilitated by project specific funders such as Greater Merseyside Money Advice Partnership, Cadent Gas, and NHS Cheshire and Merseyside. Despite over 200 volunteers and staff working to improve the lives of local residents, the lack of funding received for face-to-face advice means we currently only have capacity to provide 3 drop-ins per week.
From January 12th, face-to-face general advice drop in sessions will operate in:
Speke Training and Education Centre – Tuesdays
Walton Citizens Advice Office – Wednesdays
A third location in Toxteth (TBC)
As always, our free telephone service remains open from 9am - 5pm. Call us on 0808 278 7840 for confidential and impartial advice.
The people of Liverpool are at the heart of what we do. We rely largely on the kindness of volunteers who give their time to help the people of Liverpool, whatever their problem may be. Despite the dedication of our 100+ volunteers, we still need sufficient funding to increase our capacity to deliver more face to face advice.
We're keen to hear from organisations, both local and national, who are willing to discuss funding opportunities. Please contact communications@caliverpool.org.uk.
