This information session is provided in partnership with 4 Wings and Migrant Help who will be giving information on employment (how to find a job, how to make a good application, employment rights). This is a hybrid event with the option of attending in person from or via online video call.

About the Event
This information session is organised by Citizens Advice Liverpool who are delivering the Hong Kong Welcome Programe in the Liverpool City Region and hosted by 4 wings with speakers from 4 wings and Migrant Help.
If you are attending in person, you are welcome to arrive from 1.30 onwards for a prompt start at 2pm and there will be time for socialising after the event.
In this session for people who have recently moved from Hong Kong to our region, we will be outlining the rights and responsibilities attached to the BN(O) visa and some general information and then focussing in more detail on the topic of employment and giving a brief introduction on tax rules in the UK.
We will provide information on:
- How to find employment in the UK
- Tips and tricks to ensure that you make a strong application
- Work culture in the UK
- Employment rights
- an introduction to taxation
We can also arrange 1-to-1 support appointments to go in detail over:
- the rights you have as a BN(O) visa holder and what they mean
- make sure you know exactly what you have to do in the future in terms of your immigration status.
- how to recognise and report hate crime
Help and support with issues relating to your personal situations, such as your individual needs in relation to social prescribing, such as community groups and classes, and in the advice areas of:
- Housing
- Employment
- Business Advice
- Energy bills
- Education
- Taxes
- Debt and finances
- Benefits
- Help to Claim Universal Credit

This ticket is for attending in person. Arrival time is from 1.30, the presentations will start promptly at 2pm and after the online presentations finish at 3.30, there will be time for informal conversations until 4.30.
