Our advisers will:
Help you to explore your debt problem.
Look for ways to increase your income and reduce your outgoings.
Explain the debt options you have and how they will affect you.
Wherever possible, we will give you the information and resources you need to resolve your own debt problem.
If the complexity of the problem, or your personal situation, mean this is not possible, we may be able to provide a Face to Face casework service at an office closest to you.
Provide support in accessing Citizens Advice Debt Relief Order Unit for applications if you can access a telephone service and are seeking a Debt Relief Order.
Provide support in accessing Citizens Advice Debt Management Services, if you are seeking a Debt Management Plan, Token Payment Plan, Nil Offer Plan or an Individual Voluntary Arrangement.
We work closely with Liverpool City Council as part of an agreement called the Council Tax Protocol. This allows us to help you by requesting a hold on bailiff action and assisting in negotiating affordable payment arrangements for this priority debt.
We regularly work with other projects within Citizens Advice Liverpool e.g. Advice on Prescription Project, Better Off Finances Project and PALS Welfare Rights Project in order to secure the best advice across all areas for you.
